Steven James Sangren

Steven James Sangren, age 53, of Stewart, formerly of Dassel, died, Monday, June 8, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from Noon to 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service at 2:30 pm at the Dassel Community Cemetery in Dassel. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Steven James Sangren, the son of James and Merry Lou (Lund) Sangren was born on August 3, 1972, in Litchfield, Minnesota. Steven grew up in the Dassel area and graduated from the Dassel – Cokato High School in 1990. Steven resided in Stewert and was employed as a welder for Warrior Manufacturing in Hutchinson. He loved his job and the people that he worked with. He could be found on his Harley cruising through the countryside. He enjoyed mowing lawns and would anonymously mow someone’s lawn just because it needed it. He was an avid music listener and loved music and loud speakers. He often accompanied friends on Food for Kidz deliveries. He enjoyed giving and helping friends. You would often find him visiting with friends and family almost every day, he loved to get outside and was also known as an early-bird. If he wasn't with friends, you could find him with his significant other, Jenny who he loved with his whole heart. Steven was very proud of his sobriety and his commitment to AA. He made a great impact on everyone's lives and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his significant other, Jenny Thorson of St. Louis Park, father, James (Terri) Sangren of Dassel, sister, Jodi (Todd) Uecker of Stewart, Mandy (Wes) Sweeter of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Luke (Lindsey) Olson of Bulverde, Texas, Kelly (Cory Proctor) Sharstrom of Waverly, special niece, Jordyn (Noah Dressen) Uecker of Stewart, nephew, Micah Uecker of Orlando, Florida, niece, Ashlyn (Whitney Fox) Uecker of Hutchinson, niece, Felesha (John) Pagel of Gibbon, along with many other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and other family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Merry Lou Sangren, brother, Brian Sangren, nephew, T.J. Uecker, uncle, Bob Sangren, aunt, Marlys Hlavacek, aunt, Sandy Quigley, maternal grandparents, Vernon and Ewelda Lund and his paternal grandparents, Evald and Viola Sangren.
