Rachel Lynn Latt

Rachel Lynn (Swanson) Latt, 51, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in Dassel, MN on April 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rachel was born to Dale and LaVonne (Edberg) Swanson in Montevideo, MN, on September 19, 1974, and spent most of her years growing up in Willmar, MN, where she graduated high school in 1993. She went on to attend UW Stout in Menomonie, WI, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in interior design in 1997. Rachel’s career in design spanned many years at Schuster Design Studios and Lake Country Builders, where her eye for interior design graced many homes and businesses. Her career then took a different path when she returned to school to become a nurse. Rachel spent the rest of her career as an obstetrics nurse at Hutchinson Health, where she poured her heart into her work with moms and newborn babies. Rachel was united in marriage to Joseph Latt on October 27, 2007, and they made their home in Dassel, MN. Their home, along with their three children, was always full of laughter, good food and a big kitchen where all were welcome. Rachel loved to travel and spend time with her family and loyal pup, Rita. She loved to cheer on her people in whatever they were doing and was an incredible friend to all. Her passion in life was her love for Jesus, and she constantly pointed others to Him through her words and actions. Rachel is survived by her loving husband Joe; her children, Ethan Latt, Maddi Mayer and Ethan Mayer; her parents Dale and Voni Swanson; her sisters, Amy (Jon) Werder, and Ally Suazo, grandmother Audrey Weberg; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and her beloved pup, Rita. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Vernon and Helen Swanson and LeRoy Edberg; her father-in-law Morris Latt; her brother-in-law Paul Latt; her nephew Erick Latt; her niece Naomi Patrick, and her sweet cat, Fatty. Rachel will be remembered as a beloved wife and mom, incredible sister and daughter and the best auntie around. But most of all, Rachel will be remembered as a faithful child of God who never wavered in her love for Christ. Well done, good and faithful servant. A celebration of life will take place at Dassel Covenant Church, Dassel, MN, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation Friday, April 10, 5:00-7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the Dassel Covenant Church, Dassel, MN.
