Linda Kay Carlson

Linda Kay Carlson, age 74, of Dassel, died Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with Rev. Janine Olson officiating the service. There will be a time to gather with the family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the memorial arrangements. Linda Kay (Kutzke) Carlson was born on September 24, 1950, in Hutchinson, MN, to parents Virgil Kutzke and Joan (Barto) Kutzke. She was baptized on October 13, 1950 at the home of her parents and confirmed on June 28th, 1964 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lynn Township. Linda grew up on a farm south of Hutchinson, and her family moved into Hutchinson in 1960. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968, and was active in the Orchestra, the Office Education program, and participated in the senior class play. She married Gary Hansen in 1968, and had one son, Michael. Her first jobs included Wigen Chevrolet, Hutchinson Hospital, Telex in Glencoe, Lakeshore Products in Dassel, and 3M in Hutchinson. In 1974 she was employed with Hutchinson Technology, and worked there for 37 years. Linda enjoyed singing, fishing, scrapbooking, working with her garden & flowers, composing songs, casual photography, crocheting, and spending time with family. In 2003, Linda was united in marriage to Galen Carlson of Dassel. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil & Joan Kutzke and an infant daughter, Kristy Lynn Hansen. She is survived by her husband, Galen Carlson, son, Michael Hansen, granddaughter, Mikayla (Doug) Hansen & great grandchildren, Vanessa Smith, Harper Smith & Emmett Smith. Stepson, Cory Carlson, stepson, Robbie Carlson & wife Crystal, and their children, Jayce & Dakota, stepdaughter, Amber Stumpf & husband Matt, and their children, Joclyn, Isabelle, Cora & Magdeline. Sister, Patti Hartsuiker & husband Robert, and nieces, Sarah Bauman & Shireen Heidecker.
