Kevin Lee Settergren

Kevin Lee Settergren, age 56, of Litchfield, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his residence. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with Pastor David Wollan officiating. Interment will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hutchinson. There will be a visitation on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service on Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Military honors will be provided by the Hutchinson Military Rifle Squad. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are preferred. Kevin Lee Settergren, the son of William “Bill” and Sylvia (Radunz) Settergren, was born on July 6, 1965, at the Hutchinson Hospital. Kevin grew up in Hutchinson before the family moved to the Darwin area. Kevin graduated from the Dassel-Cokato High School in 1983. Kevin was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. After graduating from high school, Kevin enlisted into the United States Navy and served his country for three years. When he returned from the service he moved back to Darwin until he moved to his home south of Litchfield. He was employed at HTI for ten years before being employed at Spectralytics, Inc. in Dassel for the past 21 years. He loved his job and always felt that he was doing lifesaving work. He loved spending time with his children, playing cards, pinochle, poker, and Texas Holdem. He enjoyed spending time deer hunting, bear hunting, fishing, ice fishing, watching football, and camping. He would take a yearly trip fishing in Canada, going to Devil’s Lake, North Dakota, and went fishing on Mille Lacs Lake, He had made several trips moose hunting in Canada and elk hunting in New Mexico. He loved nature and the outdoors. He will be missed by his many friends and family. He is survived by his daughters, Sara Settergren of Litchfield, and Rachel Settergren of Litchfield, a special friend, Darcy Schmitz of Litchfield, and his siblings, Ken (Carman) Settergren of Litchfield, Richard (Jean) Settergren of Hutchinson, and James Settergren of Litchfield. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Sylvia Settergren and uncles, Wayne Settergren and Lee Koenig and his five grandparents.
