Harlan Harold Weege

Harlan Harold Weege, age 84, of Dassel, formerly of Watertown, died Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with Rev. Janine Olson officiating. The interment will be held at the Watertown Public Cemetery following the service. There will be a visitation on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with a one-hour visitation prior to the service on Tuesday morning at the church. Harlan Harold Weege, the son of Harold and Laverna (Domjahn) Weege, was born on January 9, 1942, in Watertown, Minnesota. Harlan grew up in Buffalo for many years before the family moved to the Mayer area. Harlan was baptized on February 1, 1942, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wright County and was confirmed on March 25, 1956, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Harlan was presently a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel. Harlan attended elementary school at the Hollywood Township Country School until sixth grade when he attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School for seventh and eighth grade and then attended Watertown High School graduating in 1960. Harlan had been an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Gethsemane Lutheran Church where he helped with church events and meals. He also enjoyed playing church dart ball, and church softball at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. On June 20th, 1964, Harlan was united in marriage to Barbara Mae Schroeder at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Germany. Together they made their home in Watertown where they farmed until 1991, when they moved to Dassel, where they have since resided. Harlan was a hard worker who milked cows and crop farmed for 25 years. Harlan was employed at Lester’s Inc., Tonka Toys, Watertown Co-op delivering fuel oil, LP, fertilizer, and chemicals for spraying. Harlan was also employed as a seed corn salesman for Top Farm and Linco Seeds in Dassel. Harlan was a talented carpenter and had helped build numerous pole sheds over the years. He loved to spend time in his large garden, go fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing cards. Harlan and Barb enjoyed traveling and had traveled to Billings, Montana numerous times over the years visiting his sister. They had traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, Hawaii and Mexico along with many bus trips. They also enjoyed numerous lake trips and going up north to resorts with their children and grandchildren. He loved to spend time with his family for holidays and special events. He especially enjoyed pulling a tube for the grandchildren. He loved his family with his whole heart. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Weege of Dassel, children, Deborah (Tim) Lynch of Mayer, and Brian (Significant Other, Tammy Anderson) of Watertown, five grandchildren, Rachel (Matt) Beckers, Amanda Lynch, Victoria (Lucas) Anderson, Kendra (Cody) Carlson, and Brendan Weege, seven great grandchildren with one great grandchild on the way, siblings, Myron (Sally) Weege of Winona, LaDonna (Millard) Hultgren of Huntley, Montana, Marlys Justice of Milbank, South Dakota, and Alan (Lucy) Weege of Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Laverna Weege and his mother and father-in-law, Elmer and Myrtle Schroeder.
