Doreen Edith North

Doreen Edith North, age 67, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in rural Dassel, with Warren Lindberg and David Hendrickson officiating. Interment will be held at the Swan Lake Cemetery following the service. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in rural Dassel with a one-hour visitation prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Doreen Edith North, the daughter of Richard "Dick" and Mary "Beth" (Redinger) Foley was born on June 12, 1957, in Vancouver, Washington. Doreen grew up in the Yacolt, Washington area and was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Brush Prairie, Washington. Doreen moved with her family to Kalispell, Montana at the age of 16. On June 14, 1980, Doreen was united in marriage to Richard Adrian North in Kalispell, Montana. Together they made their home in several areas before settling and raising their family in the Kimball and Dassel Minnesota areas. Doreen was a homemaker most of her life but in her later years was employed as a personal care attendant at The Ranch in Darwin and Dassel for several years. Doreen was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Kingston, her faith was important to her and she taught her children in the same doctrine. She loved her family with her whole heart and her greatest joy was in raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. Doreen enjoyed tending her flower gardens, tie-dying fabrics, baking, and she was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed camping and traveling to see her family. Doreen will be deeply missed by her family and many Christian friends. She is survived by her husband, Richard North of Dassel, and children: Jessica (Ryan) Hallstrom of Litchfield, Tia (Scott) Pedersen of Kimball, Jacob (Adriane) North of Battle Ground, Washington, Wayne (Bonnie) North of Sheridan, Wyoming, Ross (Mandy) North of Battle Ground, Washington, Tyrell (Lacelin) North of Kimball, Orrin (Jonna) North of Davenport, Washington, Jubal (Cortney) North of La Center, Washington, and Aaron North of Darwin, and thirty seven grandchildren. Siblings: Faye Heidegger of Battle Ground, Washington, Cindy Vega of Litchfield, Tim (Vicky) Foley of North East, Maryland, and Fred Foley of Ariel, Washington. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark North, her parents, Dick & Beth Foley, and siblings Mira Scheadel, Rick Foley, and Jerry Foley, and a brother-in- law Ed Heidegger.
