Warren Everett Servin, age 85, of Dassel, died Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Cokato Manor. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. Steven Olson officiating. An interment of the urn will take place on a later date. A time to gather with family will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday afternoon at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel. Warren Everett Servin, the son of Oscar and Anna (Johnson) Servin, was born on September 16, 1927, in Cambridge, Minnesota. Warren attended district schooling in the Lamson area. He was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church where he was baptized and later confirmed. Warren served his country in the United States Army in 1946 and 1947. On April 12, 1952, Warren was united in marriage to Elsie Mae Soderberg at the First Lutheran Church in Dassel. Together they made their home and farmed in the Lamson area until 1965, when they moved their family into Dassel. After farming he worked for Haapala Seeds, before going to work for 3-M Corporation in Hutchinson from 1968 until he retired in 1989. His life was his family and especially the times that he could spend with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Warren was always a farmer at heart, he could often be found helping out local farmers with their field work. He loved to watch nature and to see how the crops are growing. He enjoyed crossword puzzles; the price is right and the wheel of fortune and cheering on the Minnesota Twins. He is survived by his children, Lonny (Patty) Servin of Oregon, Wisconsin, Annie (Michael Crowley) Servin of Iowa City, Iowa, and David Servin of Lamson; nine grandchildren, Makayla Servin, Desiree Henke, and Arik Breitholtz, Jodi McManaway, Jennifer Howe, Dan McBee, Ezra Crowley, Chad Beilke and Cory Beilke, ten great grandchildren, Maeson Henke, Wes McManaway, Owen Howe, Aethan Crowley, Kourtny Beilke, Caleb Beilke, Cameron Beilke, Halii Beilke, Kylee Beilke, Kayden Beilke and his bff, his dog, Stella. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Mae on July 4, 2008, his parents, Oscar and Anna, and a brother, Orville Servin.
