Marilyn Ann Johnson, the daughter of Andrew and Annie (Larson) Troolin, was born on January 24, 1921, in Stanchfield, Minnesota. Marilyn was baptized at the Stanchfield Baptist Church. She grew up in the Stanchfield area and graduated from Cambridge High School. Marilyn later attended Business School in Saint Paul, Minnesota. On April 25, 1942, Marilyn was united in marriage to Rudolph Johnson at the Stanchfield Baptist Church. Together they made their home in Cokato for several years before moving to Dassel and built a house in 1952. Marilyn was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Cokato. She had been employed at banks both in Cokato and Dassel. For several years Marilyn was employed as a Teachers Aid at Dassel Elementary. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and was a wonderful cook. Marilyn loved having family over for holidays and family events. She would always cook a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, and for Christmas she would cook up a traditional Swedish Christmas feast. She was especially known for her Lemon Meringue and Rhubarb Custard pies, and her thin bread. Marilyn's favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children: Paul (Loni) Johnson of Rockford, MN, and Sue (David) Bengtson of Winthrop, MN; five grandchildren: Michael Johnson, Mark (Jenn) Johnson, Laura Johnson, Emily Bengtson, and Sarah Bengtson; three sisters: Margaret Peterson of Woodbury, Rose Ann Nickel of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Ruth Carlson of Skokie, Illinois.
