Gladys Wyoma Milner

Gladys Wyoma Milner, age 102, of Dassel, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Lakeside Generations in Dassel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel with Pastor Darren Olson Officiating. The interment will be held on a later date at Mount Olive Cemetery in Hillsboro, Oregon. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel on Friday, November 12, 2021. Gladys Wyoma (Meeker) Milner, the daughter of Glenn and Florence (Skillings) Meeker, was born on October 4, 1919, in Harrison, Nebraska. The family lived in several places, then settled near the banks of the St. Croix River in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Gladys attended school in the Grantsburg area until the family moved to Hillsboro, Oregon. On September 28, 1938, Gladys was united in marriage to Robert Parker Milner, at the Mountain Top Christian Church in Hillsboro, Oregon. Together they made their home in the Hillsboro area. Gladys had a deep and abiding faith. She lived her life by the word and showed it through the everyday works that she performed. She was active in Sunday School and church, loved to help people, and took the opportunity to smuggle bibles into China on a visit. She enjoyed spending time with her flowers and canning the harvest from her garden. She loved to travel with her husband and had visited all fifty states, drove to Alaska twice, and had also visited Africa, China, Japan, England, Mexico, and Canada. She will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Stuart) Johnson of Dassel, daughter-in-law, Melanie Milner, of Sandy Spring, Maryland, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and her brother, Robert Meeker of Hillsboro, Oregon. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her children, James Milner, Joe Milner, and Mavis Maceijko and an infant daughter, Diana Mae, her parents, Glenn and Florence Meeker, and her siblings, Con Meeker, John Meeker, George Meeker, Milo Meeker, Frank Meeker, Jim Meeker and Jennie Hickman.
