Virginia Jane Schaaf

Virginia Jane Schaaf, age 86, of Kingston, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A private graveside service will be held at the Kingston Apostolic Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is handling the graveside service arrangements. Virginia Jane (Huro) Schaaf, the daughter of George and Mabel (Isaacson) Huro was born on May 2, 1936, in Kingston, Minnesota. She grew up in the Kingston area where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church. In 1954, Virginia graduated from Kimball High School. On April 6, 1957, Virginia was united in marriage to Robert Schaaf at the Kingston Apostolic Church. Together they made their home in Medicine Lake before moving to Kingston where they reside for several years. They moved to Belle Plaine where they lived until they moved back to Kingston. To this marriage five children were born. On January 18, 2018, Virginia was united in marriage to Roy Hamari in California. Together they made their home in rural Kingston. Virginia loved to spend time with her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. She enjoyed family get together and Christmas and easter were special time for her that brought joy and love for her family. Virginia enjoyed spending time sewing and painting. Her paintings brought joy to her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and had visited numerous places across the United States and went on a cruise with Roy. She had even visited Cuba during the 1950’s. She will be missed by her family and her many friends. She is survived by her husband, Roy Hamari of Kingston, her children, Lisa (Joe) Inselman of Kingston, Todd Schaaf of Kingston, Troy (Karen) Schaaf of Kingston, and Andrea Schaaf of Blaine, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and two sisters, Doris Dorman of Dassel, and Carol Fischer of Dassel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schaaf, son, Benjamin Schaaf, and her parents, George and Mabel Huro, brothers, Gerald Huro and Russell Hero.
