LaVonne “Voni” Charlotte Sangren LaVonne “Voni” Charlotte Sangren, age 85, of Dassel, died Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Lichfield. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, from 1:00 pm -4 :00 pm, at the Dassel History Center, with Pastor Jeffrey Sangren officiating the service from 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm. The internment of the urn will be held on October 8th at 11:00 am at Stockholm Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Voni’s memory with a memorial or by planting a tree in her name. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is assisting with arrangements. LaVonne “Voni” Charlotte (Falling) Sangren, the daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Danielson) Falling, was born May 1, 1940, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She grew up in the Lamson area, attending Bear Lake Country School before graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1958. Voni was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church at the time of her death. On August 12, 1961, Voni was united in marriage to Charles Sangren in Duluth, Minnesota. Together they made their home in Dassel. Voni will be remembered for her quiet strength and perseverance, carrying with her a lifelong love of gardening, cooking, and the beauty of nature, which remained close to her heart even when she could no longer enjoy them as she once had. The companionship and love for her cats, Barnie and Pepper, and the joy of family gatherings, especially time spent with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brought her lasting happiness. She is survived by her husband, Charles Sangren of Dassel; children, Troy Sangren of Glenwood, Todd Sangren (Miriam) of Nisswa, and Tom Sangren (Tracy) of Dassel; two grandchildren, Joelle (Randy) Hjort and Pastor Jeffrey (Heather) Sangren; five great-grandchildren, Otto Hjort, Leo Hjort, Haidyn Sangren, Everett Sangren, and Dayla Sangren; and siblings, June Beach of Hutchinson and Jan Wall of Victoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Myrtle Falling; daughter-in-law, Leigh Sangren; and siblings, Fern Falling, Lowell Falling, Marlys Heller, and Milan Falling.
