Jacqueline (Jackie) Kay Tipka

Jacqueline Kay Tipka, age 76, of Dassel, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the Mayo Hospital in Rochester. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel with the Rev. Keith Carlson. There will be a time to gather with the family one hour prior to the service at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel on Saturday, October 14, 2023. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the memorial service arrangements. Jacqueline Kay (Anderson) Tipka, the daughter of Frank and Naomi (Mannes) Anderson was born on May 20, 1947, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Jacqueline grew up in the Kingston area where she attended school before the family moved to Litchfield where she graduated from High School in 1965. Jacqueline was baptized and later confirmed in the Christian faith and was presently a faithful member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel. Jackie was united in marriage to Phillip Tipka on October 23, 1965, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. Together they made their home north of Dassel for several years. She was employed and retired from 3M in Hutchinson, MN. To this union brought three wonderful children, Terry, Brad, and Gretchen. Together they enjoyed spending time at family gatherings or at their cabin near Big Stone Lake in South Dakota. She enjoyed to cook, bake and hosting holidays or any special occasions that brought her family and friends together. Jackie’s love of her life was her husband, children, and grandchildren whom she loved to spoil. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling with her husband, downhill skiing, and was a private pilot. Jackie had fun with flowers, and vegetable gardening, she always generously gave the bounty from her garden to friends and family. Jackie could often be found having coffee or lunch with her many friends from high school, work and her church. She loved to spend time with people and cherished any moment with her family and friends along with the many cats she had through the years. She will be missed by those who had the privilege to know and love her. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Tipka of Dassel, children, Terry (Eunjoo) Tipka of Minnetonka, Brad (Ela) Tipka of Roseville, and Gretchen Peterson of Naniamo, British Columbia, three grandchildren, Nadia Tipka, Asher Peterson and Paisley Peterson, sisters, Judy Vander Wege of Orange City, Iowa; and Shari (Dave) Hanka of Brooklyn Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Naomi Anderson.
