Carol Jean Fischer, Age 95, of Litchfield, formerly of Kingston, died Friday, August 14, 2026, at Eden Vista Assisted Living Memory Care in Litchfield. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Tumberg officiating with the interment in the church cemetery following the service. There will be a one-hour time to gather with the family prior to the service on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Carol Jean Fischer, age 95, of Litchfield, formerly of Kingston, died Friday, August 14, 2026, at Eden Vista Assisted Living Memory Care in Litchfield. Carol Jean (Huro) Fischer, daughter of George and Mabel (Isaacson) Huro, was born on May 2, 1931, in Kimball, Minnesota. Carol grew up in Kimball and graduated from Kimball High School in 1949. On March 2, 1951, Carol was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Fischer during a snowstorm. Together, they called Minneapolis home for 40 years before returning to the Kingston area in 1991. Carol loved spending time outdoors in her garden and enjoyed collecting recipes, filling photo albums with favorites she gathered over the years. A wonderful cook and baker, she took great joy in making treats for her children and grandchildren. Carol especially cherished having her family together for the holidays and always went out of her way to prepare everyone’s favorite dishes. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Carol is survived by her children, Dennis (Jamie) Fischer of Annandale, Sarah Fischer of Dassel, Jerry Fischer of New Hope, and Tom (Sara) Fischer of Cohasset; 13 grandchildren, Kerry Fischer, Erik (Kayla) Fischer, Paul Fischer, Jesse Larson, Dylan (Hannah) Larson, Rory (Susan) Fischer, Kelly Fischer, Kristi (Harley) Westerlund, Joe Fischer, Tiffany (Tyler) Brodersen, Tracey Fischer, Melissa (Kenny) Alexander, and James Fischer; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Doris Dorman of Dassel; and one sister-in-law, Beverly Fischer of St. Cloud. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her son, Jeffery Fischer; her grandson, Jake Fischer; her daughter-in-law, Sherrie Fischer; her parents, George and Mabel Huro; and her siblings, Virginia Schaaf, Russel Huro, and Gerald Huro.
