Barbara Ann Gasta

Barbara Ann Gasta, age 74, of Dassel, Died Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her home. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel. The interment of the urn will be held at the Lake Arvilla Cemetery in Rural Dassel. Rev. Keith Carlson will conduct the interment ceremony. Barbara Ann (Cheney) Gasta, the daughter of William and Carolyn (Blakeney) Cheney, was born on November 27, 1950, in Duluth, Minnesota. Barbara was baptized and confirmed in the Chistian faith. Barb spent her early school years traveling with her Air Force family from Tennessee to Kinawa, California and finally attended and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1968. Barb was united in marriage to William Gasta. Together they made their home in Moline, Illinois. In 1977, they moved to Montrose where they resided until 1979, when they moved to the Dassel-Cokato area. Barb was employed at American Time and Signal in their Marketing/Graphic Design Department where she helped start their company catalog. Retiring after 24 years of employment. Barb enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved the times that she could celebrate for the holidays, especially Christmas and Easter. She loved spoiling her grandkids! When her boys were growing up, she could always be found cheering at their sporting events. She rarely missed a game. She was an avid reader, loved the challenge of putting together puzzles, taking care of her flower garden, and walking with friends. She enjoyed the times that she would get together with her friends for a girl’s weekend. Her family and friends were the most important things in her life. She is survived by her significant other, Jerry Danielson of Dassel, son, David Gasta of Delano, five grandchildren, Peyton Gasta, Grayson Gasta, Nolan Gasta, Cailin Gasta and Kenna Gasta, siblings, Debra Landers of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Vicki (Tim) Ellingson of Belview, Lisa Cheney of Maple Lake, Paul Cheney of Fargo, North Dakota, and George Cheney of Fargo, North Dakota, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Gasta, daughter-in-law, Julie Gasta, parents, William and Carolyn Cheney, brother, Mark Cheney, and infant sister Margaret Lee Cheney.
